Before any story is written
Every prompt meets the Safety Agent first.
A specialized AI Safety Agent reads every request before a single word of story exists. It doesn't just look for bad words — it reads context, tone, and intent, so what reaches your child is age-appropriate all the way down. More on how we use AI, and what we refuse to do with it.
Zero violence.
Violence, gore, and physical harm are strictly blocked. In a WonderCast story, conflict gets resolved by talking it through.
No scary themes.
Monsters are friendly or misunderstood. No jump scares, no nightmare fuel — this is the last thing a child sees before sleep.
Positive role models.
Stories lean on kindness, resilience, curiosity, and empathy — the things you'd want the hero to teach.

Your stories are encrypted in transit and at rest, and sync across your devices. Your memories are stored securely, and you keep full ownership. And every character can be made from a short text description — photos are a choice, never a requirement.

No AI training.
If you choose to upload a photo of your child, or record your own voice, it stays with your account. We never use your data to train AI models.
Encrypted sync.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest — so your stories travel safely to Apple TV, tablets, and phones.
Strict access control.
Your family's stories are locked to your account. Only your family — and, when you ask for help, our support team — can open what you make. Never other families.
Kids’ privacy, by design.
WonderCast's privacy practices are designed to meet COPPA, the U.S. children's privacy law. Children don't have accounts here: WonderCast is operated by parents and guardians (18+) — your child never signs in, and only views what you've made.
Turning your child's photo into a character (or recording a grown-up's voice) is off by default: it requires your explicit, recorded consent first, and you can withdraw it any time in Settings › Privacy & Permissions. At any time you can review the information we hold about your child, delete all of it, and refuse further collection.

Is “screen time” safe?
Not all screens are created equal. Experts draw the line between passive consumption and active engagement — and WonderCast was built to live on the right side of it.
Passive consumption
Zoning out. The story happens to the child, and nothing is asked of them — a trance, not an activity.
Active engagement
Creating and learning. WonderCast asks your child to make choices — what should the hero do next? — which activates the prefrontal cortex and turns screen time into a cognitive workout.
WonderCast Storybooks on the App Store — age rating 4+. Families have made over 700 stories here (as of Aug 2026).
And it's designed for co-viewing. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends “Joint Media Engagement” — so our stories are made to be watched together, prompting questions and conversation between you and your child.

Common parent questions.
Who can see what my child makes?
Nobody outside your family. Everything is private by default: your stories, characters, and recordings live in your family's private cloud, locked to your account. Only your family — and, when you ask for help, our support team — can open what you make. Nothing a child makes here is ever public.
Is my child's photo required?
No. The default path is describe-only: every character can be created from a short text description — if you stay with descriptions, no photo ever leaves your device. If you never upload a photo of your child, our system never sees their face. Photos are a choice, never a requirement — and you can switch back to text-only at any time.
How does voice and photo consent work?
On your account, these features are off by default. Turning your child's photo into a character (or recording a grown-up's voice) requires you — the signed-in parent or guardian — to give explicit, recorded consent first. It stays off until you opt in, the rule is enforced on our servers, and you can withdraw consent any time in Settings › Privacy & Permissions.
We collect your child's photo from you, the parent — never from the child. We don't record children's voices at all. Deleting a voice in the app also asks our voice partner, ElevenLabs, to delete the voiceprint.
How do I delete our data?
Any time, in the app: Settings › Account › Delete Account schedules your account for deletion — your profile, your children's profiles, and every story and recording tied to them are permanently removed after a 30-day grace period (so an accidental tap can be undone). To remove just a photo or voice, withdraw permission in Settings › Privacy & Permissions — or email privacy@wondercast.app and we'll handle it.
We delete the source photo as soon as the avatar is created — we keep the avatar, not the photo.
Do humans review the content?
Three layers. The Safety Agent screens every prompt before a single word is written — context, tone, and intent, not just keywords. The free library stories are human-checked before they are published. And your own family’s stories are reviewed by the human who knows your child best: you — parental controls are on by default, stories are designed for co-viewing, and you can regenerate any scene that does not feel right.
What if the AI makes up something weird?
We use a technique called “grounding” plus strict negative constraints: the AI is instructed to stick to logical, child-friendly narratives. And if it ever veers off track, you can instantly regenerate the scene.
How much screen time is healthy?
Not all screens are created equal — experts distinguish passive consumption from active engagement, and WonderCast is built for the active side: your child makes choices, and the American Academy of Pediatrics’ recommended “Joint Media Engagement” means stories are made to be watched together.
There's also no infinite scroll and no slot-machine mechanics. Stories have a clear beginning and an end — and when the story finishes, the app encourages “green time”: playing outside, on the story's own theme.
What about ads?
WonderCast is 100% ad-free. Your child's attention is sacred, and it is not for sale to advertisers — we're supported solely by subscriptions.
