1. Our Privacy Philosophy

At WonderCast, we believe that family memories are private. We have built our platform with a privacy-centric cloud architecture to ensure your data is secure while allowing you to access it across all your devices.

What happens to your data — your choice

WonderCast supports two paths for creating characters. You decide which one fits your family.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following information:

Account Info: Name, email address, and billing details (processed by Stripe).
Content Data: Your generated stories, characters, and voice models are stored in our secure, encrypted cloud environment to enable synchronization.
Usage Data: Anonymized metrics on how you use the app to improve performance.

3. AI Processing

When you generate a story, image, or audio clip:

The prompt and necessary assets are sent to our AI partners (Google Gemini, ElevenLabs).
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3.
Our partners are contractually obligated not to use your personal data to train their public models.
Input files are discarded by our cloud processors immediately after generation is complete.

4. Children's Privacy & Parental Consent

Children don't have accounts. WonderCast is operated by parents and guardians (18+). Your child never signs in or creates anything — you build the characters and stories, and your child only views them. Children are represented as "Characters" that you manage.

What we collect about a child — and from whom. You (the parent or guardian) may provide your child's name, age and gender to personalize the story; and, only if you choose to, a photo (which we turn into a faceprint/likeness) and a voice recording (which we turn into a voiceprint). A faceprint and a voiceprint are biometric identifiers, and they are optional. We collect this information from you, the parent — never directly from the child.

Why. Only to create and narrate your own personalized WonderCast stories, videos and audiobooks.

Who we share it with. Trusted AI partners that process it on our behalf: ElevenLabs (voice), Google / Vertex AI (images and likeness), and AWS (secure storage). We never sell your child's information, and we never use it to train AI models. Source photos are deleted after the avatar is created.

On your account, biometric features are off by default. Turning your child's photo or voice into a character requires you — the signed-in parent or guardian — to give explicit, recorded consent first; it stays off until you opt in, is enforced on our servers, and you can withdraw it any time in Settings → Privacy & Permissions. We collect your child's photo or voice from you, the parent — never directly from the child.

Your rights as a parent. At any time you can review the information we hold about your child, delete it, refuse further collection, and withdraw your consent — in Settings → Privacy & Permissions, or by contacting us at privacy@wondercast.app. Withdrawing or deleting also removes the voiceprint at ElevenLabs.

5. Biometric Data Retention & Destruction Schedule

What we generate and keep: the likeness avatar and the voiceprint — retained only while your account is active and your permission is in force.

Deleted after use: the source photo you upload is deleted immediately after the avatar is created. We keep the avatar, not the source photo.

We destroy biometric data when, whichever comes first:

you delete your account;
you withdraw your permission (Settings → Privacy & Permissions); or
your account has been inactive for an extended period.

How we destroy it: permanent deletion from WonderCast's systems, together with deletion of the voiceprint at ElevenLabs.
