The Rainy-Day Fort
When a rainy day keeps Wondy the owl, Fern the fox, and Bruno the bear cub stuck inside Wondy's tree hollow, boredom quickly sets in. But with a little imagination and some simple materials, they transform a humble fort into a magical castle, a daring pirate ship, and a rocket to the moon, turning the dreariest day into their best adventure yet.

Rain, rain, go away! The Wonderwood was very wet. 'This rain is too much today!' grumbled Bruno. Wondy sighed gently, and Fern just watched the drops fall.

Bruno wriggled his nose. 'This rain is boring!' he said loudly. 'We cannot play outside now!' Then his eyes sparkled brightly. 'I have an idea!'

Fern’s ears perked up. 'What are we making?' she asked softly. Wondy smiled. 'Maybe a cozy place to hide?'

With a few pushes and pulls, their fort was ready! It was warm and safe inside. Outside, the rain still drizzled, but inside, they were snug.

Suddenly, Bruno puffed out his chest and let out a rumbling growl. 'No, this is a mighty castle!' he roared playfully. 'We must guard our kingdom from dragons!'

Fern looked at the big puddles outside the hollow. 'A castle? No, it is a pirate ship!' she said with a wide grin. 'We sail the puddle-sea!'

Wondy flapped his wings with excitement. 'Wait, wait! It is a rocket ship!' he chirped. 'We will fly to the moon!'

The rocket landed softly. All three friends were sleepy from their adventures, but very happy. The rainy day they dreaded was not boring at all. Imagination made it the best adventure!
